Why does my male parakeet stand on one foot?

he grooms or just stands there but on one foot!why?is he hurt or something?

This is how they sleep.  Sometimes they sleep on one foot.  

Also, birds like to shift weight onto one foot once in a while.  Don't worry about it.

Just make sure he isn't standing on that one foot all the time.  That means something is wrong with the other foot.

That's normal behavior.. my birds used to sleep on one foot with their heads tucked around into their wings.

He may rest his foot . If you have several sizes of the perches , he can feel better to rest and exercise  , otherwise his feet get sore and that's how they rest the feet  one at a time . TM.
