Why does my memory card say there is no data? ?

last night i was on and it said corrupted data found on memory card and i ignored it and shut it off... then i tryed today and on the game it said it couldnt detect a memory card. so i looked up what to do for corrupted data and it said delete the file so i wen tto the memory card menue and it said no data???? can u please help me!???!?

you probably turned off the system when it was loading on the ps3.that is how data can get corrupted
