I recently had a new jet kit installed, rejetted the bike and a new air filter installed on my gs500. I got it back and when I'm in 4th or 5th gear and I pulled the clutch in and go to nuetral and let the clutch out the bike shuts off, or if I go from 5th to 3rd and the rpms drop below about 3000, as soon as I let the clutch out and give it a little gas the bike shuts off. I starts right back up everytime, but I have to give it gas while I'm starting it.

  1. I don't think your riding with your kickstand down so pay no attention to those who said your kickstand is down.

It sounds like a fuel/air mix issue. Why did you re-jet?  You didn't say you added any mods like pipes, or cams. You did say a new air filter but we don't know if you mean a stock air filter or a modified air filter. Based on the info you've provided.....there is absolutely no reason to re-jet from stock. This will only cause major problems.

Go back to the stock jets.

  2. If its a Honda, the kickstand is down.

  3. Some bikes have a kickstand sensor that kills the bike when you take off...other than that why are you trying to take off in 3rd gear?
