Why does my neighbor have to pay tivo.?

Question

My neighbor hooked up Tivo and since it was night she didn't call the company yet and shes playing around with it.She can record and then watch it. she can pause live tv too. So why do you need to pay?

Are we missing something? She plans on calling tomorrow but tonight we would like to know what is she getting for her money?

You need to pay for the program information - in other words, the automatic schedule and recommendations.

well usually when you pay for the service is because it allows you to record, pause, rew live tv, but if she is able to do it let her use it until she gets the messge to conatct customer service, that way she is saving $$ until the recorder identifies that she does not have the svc
