Question:

Why does my nine month old always throw up?

My nine month old daughter throws up alot of what she eats. I was told I could give her finger foods so sometimes I chop up foods like cheese. I also will cut up the food I eat, like french fries, or red beans, and she eats them. However, hours later (4 or more hours) she will throw up the food exactly the way she ate it. I don't understand. Is this some sort of digestive problem that she can't digest the food so it comes back out hours later? Should I see a doctor soon?

  1. I would contact your doctor. It could be a digestive problem. Good Luck!

  2. If she keeps throwing it up when you give it to her:

    1. Maybe she's not ready for that many different foods all at once. Try only giving her one new food at a time.

    2. Maybe she's not ready for solid foods in general, or the kind you're giving her.

    3. Maybe she's allergic to something, you are giving her.

    4. Maybe she is sick. Call your doctor and see what he says.

I hope this advice helps you and your baby :)

  3. maybe you should ask her doctor about this issue. it could possibly be something wrong with her digestive system. she should not throw up that much!

  4. how is her growth? is she following the same growth line in relation to her weight that she has been following?

all the same, i speak to a dr, if he doesnt help, a health visitor or dietician.

  5. Why would anyone give thier child greasy french fries !!! How about some mashed potatoes. I would say the food you are giving her is all wrong. Grease and dairy...........not good. How about mashed bananas, cherrios.  Sounds like she is just swallowing them whole. I think I would go back to baby foods for a while

Every baby should be gaining weight, they are all active, No weight gain for 3 months is very strange, should be gaining at least a bit. If you are talking about 19 - 22 percent that is pretty low on the chart considering 50 would be half.

  6. Stop giving her food..Her tummy is not ready for it. Some kids just need a while..Wait a month or two, keep feeding her breast or bottle, and try again later. When they say to give kids this stuff, it's an average...Most kids are ready, some are not. You just may have one that is not.
