My nose keeps bleeding. It's been bleeding like almost everyday for like a week. My mom tells me that it probably happens because my nose gets really dry. Does anyone know why it might be bleeding a lot? Do you have any suggestions on how to make it stop bleeding?

  1. It could be a low platelet  count. I would think you might consider checking this   out with your doctor and you just  might have a condition  known as I T P. This is Idiopathicthriboncitopinapurpa. I was near death with this illness with a 1200 platelet count.Anything under a 50000 count is life threatening. Good luck.God bless!

  4. Dryness can cause your nose to bleed, and your mom is right about that. The dryness could be due to an allergen in the air; allergies have been pretty bad for a lot of people this year. I would try putting some vaseline on a Q-tip and putting some just inside your nose to help moisten the tissue. I also recommend a nose spray of some kind, maybe one that's for dryness.

  5. High blood pressure sometimes causes nose bleeds, cut down on caffine (or coke...either or)

  6. Your mom might be right.  When the mucous membrane is dry, it cracks and bleeds.  That makes a scab in the nostril , which is really a bloody 'booger'.  Makes  you want to blow and get it out of there!!!! Which makes it bleed, and form another booger, which makes you want to blow.......... you get it.....

Best solution is to put a small coating of vaseline inside your nostrils right before you go to bed.  That way you can sleep while it does it's work, softening and re-moisturizing the membranes.

If that is not the case, you might need to see a doctor and let them touch the affected area with a little swab that has medicine to stop up that particular vessel.  You will still need to keep it moist while that heals.

Pinch your nostrils together (like you smell something stinky) when it bleeds, the pressure will stop the blood. Pinch down on the soft part of the nostrils, not the bony part of the nose....
