Why does my puppy sometimes growl when i play with her?

ur pup's being playful taht's why. if he/she bites you, then that's another story.

my dogs used to growl whenever they would pull onto like a rope and i would pull back.

She's just playing and having a good time.  You can usually tell when a growl is playful and when it is aggressive.  A lot of times you'll notice when dogs are playing w/ each other, even, they'll growl and bark.  It's just a form of expression, like how we talk to each other.  She's just talking to you.

Its perfectly normal, they do it all the time when playing with other dogs, or their people. She's just having fun, nothing to worry about.

This is very normal and common in puppys, they are only being playful, its instinct. The only time you should worry about that is if she get violenty disobediant and aggresive, but in your case i doubt it. Have fun with your pup. Good Luck.

She growls because she wants to play and if she bites you it doesn't mean anything, its just because she teething, but if you don't want her to be biting you when shes older when you play don't play with your hands or feet, use her toys ; like tug o war rope or a squeaker ball!

It is how puppies play.  If it sounds like she is getting a bit to carried away then growl back at her, the same goes if she starts bitting to hard.  If the growling at her doesn't work then remove her from you (time out) for a short time, then bring her back in.
