  1. She could be whimpering for several different reasons, and there's just not enough info for someone online to determine exactly what's happening. It's reasonable to assume that she is having pain or discomfort, because if she was only upset with being picked up, she would grunt or grind her teeth (although there's some possibility this particular one would whimper to show you she doesn't approve). The fact that she only gets upset when you touch her sides further supports my feeling that she's in pain. If she was recently spayed, she's probably still tender. Handle her with care and avoid picking her up if possible. By the way, when trimming nails rabbits prefer for you to get down on their level and hold the foot whose nails you are trimming as close to their body as possible. Of course, if she won't tolerate that, it may be necessary to pick her up. Please call your vet and speak with them about this, and if necessary, take her in. Good luck and God bless.

  2. My rabbits have done this. At least if it is what I am thinking of. Could your rabbit be pregnant? My rabbit did this when she was about or had the babies. You should probably call the vet in case though. Hope I helped!

  3. She is in pain.
