  1. Wants to eat it in private

  2. It's something different and exciting so she wants to be sure no one else can take it from her.

Why is your poor girl alone? Rats are really social, she should have a same s*x friend. It's also really not good to feed those pet store mixes, especially ones with dried corn in them. Feed grade dried corn can contain dangerous mycotoxins.

I have a great write up on good rat diets here:

  3. its like a prize. if someone gave you a penny, you'd go, ok, sure. if some one waved a couple hundred dollar bills in your face, you'd snatch them and run to your favourite store to spend it all. your rats are saving the treats up in their 'special food bank'.

  4. Because it tastes good.

I agree she should not be on her own

    see this article :) http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/information/...

  5. 2 things first off.

Why is your rat not have a friend. Rats do need companion in their lives if you want her to be as happy as possible.

Second i don't know if you know this but corn is NOT good for rats.

To answer your question it is because she takes it as a treat.

She doesn't want you to take it away from her.

I mean think about it this way would you be as upset if you mom took away your normal snack or your favorite treat?

So you can really answer the question yourself   =]
