Why does my red tail boa ONLY turn pink when i take out of her cage?

her face and lower jaw and about half of the light spots on her body are the main parts turning pink.

  1. Boas have the ability to lighten and darken depending on light conditions. Either it is brighter or darker outside of the cage than in it, causing the snake to change slightly when taken out. This color change is most noticeable in Hog Island boas. My Hog Island will become really light or really dark. The only other snakes I have seen this in other than boas are reticulated pythons.
