My boa may sometimes take small sips from her water bowl but she never lays or soaks in it. The bowl is definitely big enough for her and she always has privacy to do so. Please help!!!

  1. Please check the temperature of your BOA gage. The temperature should not be lower than the natural temperature in the wild.

  2. Don't be worrying about this. Red Tail Boas will only soak in the bowl of water when its about to shed. Boas and Python will take sips of water after it eats.

  3. boas are not big fans of water but when it goes into the shed process you will see it in the water a lot more often don't worry it is not necessary for than to lie in the water

  4. There is nothing wrong, so don't worry. You're boa will soak if the humidity is to low, if it is about to shed, if it is too warm or to avoid pests like mites. So if your snake isn't soaking then don't worry, but you should check the temp and humidity daily to make sure it is set right, so your boa doesn't get to cold/hot or end up with an upper respiratory infection.

Good luck! I hope this helps you out some.

  5. They are not supposed to soak unless in shed, and if they are soaking a lot it can be a sign of mites or your temps being off.
