I have used Fibingers black dye on a black leather coat and it had a redish tint to it. Then I tried Terrago coloring cream on the hem on my navy leather jacket and it also had a red tint to it. What can I do to stop this?

  1. The dyes you are using obviously have a reddish tint in them.

Terrago is meant for shoes and should not be used on garments as these are finished in a totally different way.

Good results will depend on the type of leather you have.  If you have a finished leather (pigment coated) then the best products to use would be something like Easy Colour which is developed from professional products for consumer use.

If your leather is an absorbent leather (aniline style) then the best thing would be to use Aniline Restoration colours that are also professional products.
