Why does my refrigerator cool only when the freezer is open?

Hi! I noticed that my fridge is warm and after investigating, it will only blow cold air into it if the freezer (located on bottom) is open. This is so bizarre. any answers?

Most likely it is your thermostat. Check the back to see if you have a reset button and if you do then turn it off then back on. You should hear a click and the fan come on. Put a cup of water in the freezer for 15 min, to see if it gets cold. Most likely you will have to change the thermostat or fan.
