My riding mower is only 2 years old. When I'm riding it and I crank it to full-throttle it dies and wont start for a while. Why is this?

  1. Check the air filter, clean or replace.  With the engine running and the air filter off, move the lever to full throttle and check the position of the choke butterfly.  Does the choke move with the throttle lever?  I have a sears that the choke is on if the throttle lever is all the way up.  You only do that to start the engine.

  2. too much gas to the engine. check your spark plug it is probably fouled.

  3. Check the air filter. Either its starving for air or fuel.

  4. And you probably smell gas? You are flooding the engine with gas and it dies....it is kind of like having the choke on.
