Why does my right knee pop out of place?

Well when I was 14 (6 years ago) I tripped over and fell right on the side of my right knee. It seemed to have popped out of place as I couldn't move it and the pain was out of this world.

I've done this quite a few times since, and yesterday I was playing football and I must have put my foot in an awkward posistion for my knee and it just popped right out of place. About 30 seconds later I was able to make it pop back in place again, you can feel and hear a lump move around the side of my knee and it's one of the most painfull things you can experience.

Now my leg is painfull when I try to bend it, and my knee feel's really stiff. Problem is I want to be in the Military but I'm scared that this knee will let me down. Is there any kind of way right now I can repair it quickly and how would I go about repairing it in the long term future so it doesn't happen again?

Many thanks.

  1. you probs have loose cartilage go see a doc about it !???

  2. talk to the doctor you might need a brace but if you get the brace the military will still accept you as longas you can pass the phiscal with it

  3. You need to go see your family doctor & ask to be referred to see an Ortho Consultant. If your knee cap keeps popping out, you definitely have big problems.

If I were you I would give football a miss until you know exactly what's going on with your knee, to continue playing could do more harm than good.

    Good Luck.X :-)
