Why does my root canal hurt?

it was done like 7 months ago but it still hurts....

and its not the cold or hot that bothers me because the nerve is dead. only when i tap my tooth it hurts (it was my upper front tooth

it could be an infection in ur tooth i would go back and tell them that... one of my tooth hurt when i taped it and the dentist gave me some med for it than it was fine after that

If the tooth is being pushed on by any other teeth or your tongue, it can make the ligament surrounding your tooth sore. Some people grind or clench their teeth, especially at night and this can keep teeth sore.
