I bought my scooter brand new (less than 5km on the clock) 2 years ago, last year I got the scooter out in the morning and the battery was dead. I replaced the original battery and it worked fine for about 3 months, then the same problem happen again.

Now I use a trickle charger every night to top up the battery so it'll last me 24 hours to get to work and back.

A week ago, even after charging over night the bike wouldn't start, the battery didn't seam to have hardly any power in it (very dim headlight and the starter motor straining to kick in). I replaced the spark-plug (which had what looked like carbon deposits on the end) and left it to charge over night. This morning my bike is working again.

Does changing the spark plug effect how the battery will keep it's charge?

Why does my scooter keep going flat?

  1. check ground wire and test rectifier and altenator

  2. you could have a ground somewhere in your system or have you been boosting the battery with a car if so you have fried your stator i say after you cleaned the plug you let it charge all day and night which hey if it works now cleaning the plug might let it run better and charge the battrey right
