Why does my shoulder hurt when I cough?

I have a really bad chest cold. I am coughing and sneezing green colored mucus. Gross, I know. But, everytime I start coughing, my left shoulder only starts hurting. Any idea why?

  1. This really could be pneumonia.  Green mucus is not normal and is a sign of infection. Go to the doctor. ASAP
