Why does my skin feel so tight after I moisturize?

My skin feels tight and uncomfortable after I moisturize with cheap moisturizers. It's only when I use top-of-the-line moisturizers like Shiseido and Elizabeth Arden that my skin feels fine. Why?

  1. Try moisturizing while your face is still damp.  Either from the shower or toner.  Products have better penetration on damp skin.  The more expensive brands can use top of the line ingredients that penetrate the skin better.

  2. It could be that you're just not using the right ones for your skin.  There are plenty of lower cost moisturizers that are richer in consistency that would probably work best for you.  Stay away from lotions and stick with creams.

  3. Either they use inferior ingredients and/or your skin is sensitive to certain ingredients only used in cheap moisturizers. If it made my face uncomfortable I would only use the expensive stuff even though it costs a lot more, I would hate for my skin to feel that way all the time.

  4. maybe they're not rich enough

  5. A lot of the cheaper brands contain lanolin or linalool, the fat from sheeps wool and you could be allergic to that, a lot of people are so check your ingredients before you buy.

  6. more expensive =better quality..
