Why does my stomach get butterflies when I get restless and tired?

I find that if I stay up even a little later than normal or past my breaking point for sleep (force myself to stay up a little later), that my legs in bed are moving around and my stomach feels like I have butterflies.

  1. It's nerves.  Anxiety.  Some of us are just cursed with it. If it gets bad enough, see a doctor.  Their are many anti-anxiety medications.

    Mention your legs to the doctor also.  You may have the start of RLS, which is not dangerous. (That's Restless Leg Syndrome.)
