Why does my sunsign get a lot of shocked/negative responses?

Why does Scorpio have such a bad reputation in the Zodiac chart?!

A lot of Astrology you read on the web or in magazines is brutal about the way they describe Scorpios. That's only because its easier to trash the Scorpio personality traits than to accurately describe them.

Scorpio is a complex and intriguing sign. It can be very emotional and intensely emotional, which puts more superficial signs off. Scorpio is all about digging deep into our feelings and letting go of negative and self-defeating attitudes that hold us back. Although most people admire and are attracted to Scorpio, not everyone is willing to deal with the power or intensity that many Scorpios show.

You could argue that people always run away from what they want or people enjoy having their heroes fall, bit Scorpios are awesome in my book. You'll never meet a more loyal friend or more powerful ally than a Scorpio. They're demanding, penetrating and competitive, and I would be lost without their presence in my life.

i'm a scorpio, and i knew you were talking about our sign before i saw what sign you were. i think because we are such a threat to some in the zodiac and we are nobody's fool. everyone knows scorps are loyal to the end if you treat them with respect....so. i have no idea.

have no idea!! =/ I'm a scorpio and all the mean things it says is unbelievable...i'm not extremely jealous...and I let people have their own freedom...sometimes the things are just a bit far fetched..but oh well..

I always wonder the same thing. I think scorpios are the most loyal and honest friend you can have. But I guess its the Mystery of the sign. I guess we keep them guessing, so they are left to assume. I am stubborn, internally Jeolous, but like most scorpios I will walk a mile for those that I care about.

I bet the negative responses are about Scorpio being an intensely sexual sign! =)

Like all the other people above me said, every sign has negative reputations. Virgo (my sign) being too rigid and perfectionist, Gemini being too flighty (I know a Gemini guy and he's VERY loyal to his Libra girlfriend), Sagittarius being too adventurous and out there (my friend's dad is a Sag and he's a homebody), etc....

For Scorpio, I read somewhere that either people get scared of you, or people get awed by you. The awed part, that's because Scorpio is known as the "silent but strong" type, someone with "penetrating gaze", someone who knows the hidden motives of everyone. A formidable foe, someone they know they shouldn't mess with.

Be proud and happy with your sign. See how many people will get turned on just because you're a Scorp! =)
