Why does my tap water have a funny smell?

When I use or clean something with tap water, or take sip it smells like WET DOG...Any idea why the water would smell like this? There are NO dogs in the building and I don't live near a groomer. Thx

if it smells of sulfer, its probably your water heater

It might be sulfur...

I don't know why it happens but my water smell like sulfur sometimes.

It kind of smells like rotten eggs...usually in the summer.

it depends on your region, as the softness of the water changes because of the mineral deposits.
