My tongue hurts after awhile when I eat a fresh cut pineapple fruit. What causes it, does anyone know? Is there a way to avoid it from happening? (besides not eating the fruit...har har har)

  1. Allergies?  I get a bump on my lip when I eat muskmelon or cantaloupe.  I think it's allergies.

  2. The acids in the pineapple are probably what's causing it. That used to happen to me when I would eat a lot of pineapple. It's pretty normal. In order to stop it from burning, just eat less pineapple. I don't think there's much you can do to prevent it.

  3. Are you eating the outside or the inside of the fruit? That plays a big factor in taste and texture.
