Hello, I have a red eared slider turtle and I just noticed that my turtle has a pink nose. Is it sick? Is the water causing it...or it's normal to have pink nose. I just wanted to know if other owners notice their turtles that have a pinkish color.

  1. I agree with saladfin,,

    Is your tank small

I have never heard of a pink nose. If you have sharp objects in the tank I suggest take them out. You know that they are skiddish and generally when they see ya coming the haul buns to get away he could be bumping into stuff.

Sliders are great for decorating ponds or large tanks. I have had two for 36 yrs now plus a 8 yr old and a 5 yr old. This is how I have taken care of them for 36 yrs. Great pets.

I have had them in a stand alone 150gal pond from sears..for about 6 yrs now..

**Here is some important and info. If he or she is small get feeder guppies or small feeder goldfish, frozen brown worms ..or live brown worms from a fish store. petco and or petsmart do not carry live worms.. they must have fish for protein and calcium and they get that from eating the fish and its bones..lettuce toss some romaine or spinach or butter lettuce in for thier veggies and whatever dry stuff ya feed..

email me if ya need anymore help,k!

    good luck
