It's almost like a beeping, but sharp.

  1. could be a loose Ariel or scart connection causing the digi sound to break up.

  2. i am not quite sure what is wrong with the TV, but you can try to hook it up using a different surge protector, or try to hook it up directly to the wall.

Try to use a different power outlet could sometime do the trick.

If all of it does not fix the problem, try to get a cable filter.

  3. It's almost certainly a digital television and there are two possible reasons. Either your digital signal has dropped slightly and it's making a correction, or it's a tone burst for data purposes.

  4. If it is a popping sound then I'm guessing that the popping sound you hear is caused by expansion and contraction from change in temperature.  The bigger ones are good for that.  I have a 36 inch model and it pops all the time, even when not in use because of the change in the air temperature in the room and the large plastic case around the picture tube.  If it is actually beeping then it possibly it might be the tuner picking up the frequency of a ham or CB radio operator.   Sometimes when they are signaling for someone, they set off a beeping signal or some other signal to get the other persons attention.  I also have that problem with mine and often times when they crank up the power, they will come in over my TV.  Also when they crank up the power, it will make my computer hum like an electrical transformer.  I'm thinking that is why my last computer burnt out.  To those who operate radios, obey the law and stay within the prescribed power output and be considerate of others.
