Why does my tv screen keep going dark?

I have a CurtisMathes Tv. I don't think it's HD. It keeps going dark on certain stations. Like KSBW (i think NBC) and CW. Not the cable channels, that I've noticed that is. Do you think it's my tv or that there's something with those channels. It doesn't do that on my grandma's tv.

what kind of TV? Plasma? LCD? Tube? Projection?

On older TV's - the Tube or Guns could be going bad.

On a Plasma - its useful life is about 10000 hours and the plasma could no longer work or start going dim.

On LCD - useful life is a lot longer.

If you are using a digital signal like HDMI or DVI, it could be a bad cable. Lots of reasons.
