Why does my tv turn itself on and off while im watching it and when i shut it off it turns itself on.?

it usualy turns itself back on right after i have been watching it for a while and always to the same channel ,6 the tv is about 4 yrs old has anyone ever heard of this happening?and why?

You have one of three problems....1} The sleep timer is set on your tv.....2} You have major electrical problems and should get a new tv....3} You have spirits visiting you from the other side.

if you look on your remote there is a sleep button and u can set it to stay on for 1hr  or 2 hr or 30 Min's.etc.. so maby there is your problem

a friend of mine had a similar problem. oftwen the cause is that the TV has a sleep timer on it and if this timer is interrupted by someone turning it off manually the TV won't understand this so it turns itself back on to be able to off itself later.

the best way to overcome the problem is to turn the off timer off.

to do this:

1.go into the TV's menu/settings

2.there you should find some sort of submenu with options for a timer-this is normally in the menu of 'Time and Date'

3.here you should be able to turn off the timer.
