my two- year old daughter has at least 50 movies, mostly disney. The only one she will watch is The Little Mermaid. If you turn on any other movie she takes it out and puts in the little mermaid. Why does she do this? Is there any way to get her to watch something else?

  1. My mom told me that when i was little i would watch one certain movie non stop because i liked it so much. When kids like something they want to see it over and over because it entertains them. She'll move on to another movie after a while and it will be the same with that one, lol.

  2. My 19 mo old is doing the same thing with lady and the tramp. Luckily I am able to intersperse with dora the explorer, Unfortunately I can't tell you which one I hate more. Could be worse she could be watching barney! At least you are able to get other stuff done while she is occupied

  3. Five times? Is that all? lol

  4. Kids and dogs love repetition.

  5. I will trade you your copy of The Little Mermaid for my copy of Cars. LOL!

  6. hit the *****

  7. kids do that. my son likes cars, and my daughter likes her babies(the backyardgans) they just go through the stages where they like the repetiveness of the movie. i think it helps them learn.

  8. because they like repetition, but you don't have to allow her to watch anything 5 times a day, you know that isn't good for her- turn off the tv, get down in the floor and play wit her, or put a toddler songs cd into your dvd player and sing silly songs together, act them out, etc.

The more she plays, the more her imagination develops!

  9. my baby used to watch only Cars Movie, i  hated it, (the movie of course) and not only 5 times,,, it was like 8-9-10 times, now he just wants Bob The Builder, same video, we bought him a new one with Bob The Builder, nope, he wants the same.... i can almost repeat it word by word... he goes with his portable dvd player everywhere in the house, and he watches the same video around 20-40 times daily... they are just kids..

  10. I suggest that you purchase a "back-up" copy of the DVD...I think that Disney sometime limits the release of movies for a short period of time and then you have to wait till they re-release them...Does anyone know if this is correct?

  11. try the little mermaid 2

    lol
