Question:

Why does my vision close and I see black and yellow?

Sometimes, (with my eyes open the entire time), when I get up, or just stand still, my vision will "close in" (think black curtains closing..or the 007 "eye" closing at the begining of all the movies)..it closes in from all directions, and I will see solid black, then stars, shapes, crazy patterns, or yellow and purpleish colors for a couple of seconds before my vision starts opening again (from complete darkness to a pinhole to my normal vision)...the whole event can be as long as 20 seconds..closing, seeing colors/black, and then slowly opening again. Any ideas?

  1. I agree.  Postural hypotension causing that type of visual sensation is not unusual when you make a sudden change in position (stand up, lay down), but I don't think it should last 20 seconds, nor should it happen when you're just standing still.  Get it checked out please!

  2. It may be a  vascular issue, check with your family doctor.  You may have low blood pressure.
