I have this Velcro watch I wear and it stinks, my arm also stinks from the watch.

I can't put it in the washer because the straps are connected to it.

What is it that makes the foul odor and how can i get rid of it?

i tried washing it with soap and water.

I don't really mind the smell but two other people said eww when they could tell it stunk from a few feet away.

  1. the sweat from your wrist is absorbed in the velcro....replace it.

  2. that happened to my brother. i think is because of sweat take it of when going 2 sleep. Also water makes it smell bad.

  3. Does it smell like a wet dog? When you get it wet that's gonna happen.  Get a new watch.  You can them really cheap and nice looking at WalMart.  But be sure to get a METAL BAND. (Under $5!)

    That'll solve your problem.

  4. the foul odor is bacteria build up.  Try soaking it in peroxide or vinegar.  Vinegar kills bacteria that like alkaline environments and H2O2 kills anaerobic bacteria.  If it still stinks, try bleach.  Soap and water isn't enough to kill deep seeded bacteria.

  5. get a new watch

  6. You have probably perspired and gotten other smelly things on the band.  Try a new band.

  7. the sweat from your arm gets on the watch band. Try a different band made from a different type of material. Wash and dry under watch more frequently. Make sure you don't run under water or get it wet on purpose.
