Why does my wii wheel not work?

I have just bought mario kart for my wii with 2 steering wheels. both remotes work perfectly but as soon as i try to play multi player the second persons wheel will not turn, it will accelerate and brake but not turn it is fully sync'd and i have swapped remotes over but it still wont work!?!?

did u put the remote in the rite way and were u standing the rite way

try 2 sync them again

Make sure that you are holding it in an angle that is not about 45 degrees. If you hold it straight up and down, or tilt the top towards you, it will go backwards. If you hold it flat, it may not work right either.
