Why does my xbox 360 lag?

Ok my computer is fast i guess but i always lag in Halo 3 or i can't find any games in matchmaking

is there anyway i can make it faster

im running at about 29mbps and i get horrible lag too...  i am also using the wireless adapter for the xbox.  i have heard from many people to check out your firewall security  and if your playing wireless, then you might need to do port forwarding.  i know nothing about that, but you should look into it, thats what im gonna do
