Why does my xbox keep stopping in the middle of a game and say disk unreadable?

Seems like every time i play on my xbox 360, in the middle of any game, it freezes and says that the disk is unreadable and needs to be cleaned with a soft towel. How can this be when the game is brand new NCAA 2009 i bought two weeks ago and have only played maybe 10 times. I tried to update the software using xbox live, but the same error occurs. Please Help!

  1. It actually says "This game is too g*y to play on this l3itchin machine". Lol just kidding. I'm not sure if it has to do with a potential red ring of death issue. Make sure you Xbox 360 is away from extreme heat. Like dont put in on top of another device that heats up or dont put another device on top of it. Also don't leave your xbox 360 on like when you leave to go to a store. This probally wont effect you if you have the air cooler on the back. But you can always try what they said. Clean the disk tray. If this doesnt work you will probally have to contact microsoft. If your under rebate you will probally have to pay to have it fixed.

  2. clean out ur xbox and keep it cool

the same thing happend to me

then i got the 3 red rings of death

  3. you have to clean the cd with a piece of cloth so you have no oil or hand marks on it and dont put you hands on the bottom of cd....or there might be dust in you console...take aport or get someone to clean it....if that doesnt work return it and if you cant get a electrishion to try to fix it

  4. There's probably dust or a scratch on it.  Usually when that happens to me I take windex and wipe it clean.  It works for me.

  5. If it's not your disc, the machine needs to be dusted, and if that doesn't work, you'll need to realign the laser.

  6. check 4 skratch marks on the CD

  7. the laser that reads the disc might need to be cleand...but dont do this yourself...if you have the warranty just send it in and get  a new one...otherwise you have to take the whole thing apart, and its not as easy as it sounds

  8. it might have dust in it.

  9. Maybe its cause the disk is dirty or scratched and you need to clean it with a soft not wet towel

  10. Because Xbox 360 are known for messing up. Shoulda bought a PS3.

I would contact the company & they will have you send your 360 in & they will either try to fix it or send you a brand new one.

  11. the laser reader might be broken and not working correctly.

try calling tech support and asking them about it.

you may have to send it back in to microsoft. good luck!
