Why does my xp wireless desktop have faster internet than my cabled vista desktop???

my vista computer is a lot better performance wise. it uses a cat 5, 20 meter long cable

i only have adsl normal

modem - linksys am300 adsl 2+

router - linksys wireless-g router

the wireless desktop is about 15 meters away

  2. You need to upgrade your network card

  3. do you really think that its your internet connection is slow in vista?

    if YES, tried checking the settings of your router , for port forwarding

    also, in most cases, XP computers are faster than VISTA (if they have the same hardware specifications) vista tends to eat up 60-80% of your RAM thus causing slow processing.
