  1. Because it's a knock-off Zippo made with inferior parts.

Try using a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull up some more wick. Longer wick=bigger flame. Ideally, the wick should extend to just below the top of the chimney.

Even if it is an imitation lighter, you might try using a real Zippo brand wick and Zippo brand fluid.

  2. You buy cheap, you get cheap

  3. you get what you pay for, homie.

  4. because it's an imitation. they suck. just get a real Zippo.

  5. if you just filled it, try using a drop of lighter fluid on the wick. also check to make sure the wick extends down into the bottom of the lighter for best wicking properties. You can pull some more wick out near the ignition area to get a bigger flame but if its too long it will just burn the wick up anyways. Replacing the wick and cotton with a well known product name brand will make your knock off work better in the long run. word from the wise, just dont carry it in you pocket if its leaking... it will cause a nasty rash on your leg.
