Why does niacin make people itch and what is it doing to your body when it is making you itch?

  1. Niacin is nicotinic acid. Although stronger acids are known to cause itching/burning, niacin (to the best of my knowledge) is too weak to be noticed. Niacin is in your body because it is vitamin B3.
