so the prices for NES games are 500 pts SNES 800 pts and for N64 games 1000 pts.

But the lowest number of points we get to buy is 1000 so why dont they have an option where you can buy less points, because this way there is basically no difference in price between an SNES and N64 game because there is nothing good you can buy for 200 points

  1. not a very smart man, are you?

EDIT: A seven year old could figure it out dummy. They want you to spend more money. I mean really, who couldn't figure that out????

Why do they do it? BECAUSE THEY CAN!

  2. Points accumulate, do they not? You don't have to spend 200 points -- you only have to buy more points to add to them.

It's the same thing you see in carnivals. Tickets are sold in 10's or 20's, yet rides cost 3 or 6 tickets. They work it so that *if* you have any leftover, they've come out money ahead, And to use them, you have to buy more. It's simply creative (but very old) marketing.

Anyway, I'm not convinced this is intentional on Nintendo's part, otherwise *all* games would be oddly-priced. I see your point about buying a specific amount, but Nintendo is probably the best place to make that suggestion...

  3. Nintendo learned from MS.  Basically by allowing you only the option to spend 10 bucks at a time, Nintendo is basically forcing you to spend more points if you want to bring your balance down to 0.
