Why does nobody play volleyball in the UK?

I'm curious because here in Italy - well, actually, all over the world - it is very popular and the English are great at sports. So why isn't there any good volleyball player in the UK?

Because it's gayer than a tree-full of monkeys.

It's like 'catch' for spackers.

It's a beach sport and there's not that many nice summer days in the UK to play on the beaches which are again not that many.

england got  one ....

It requires some elements we don't possess.

1) Sandy beaches

2) The ability to look good in thongs

3) More nets, because all ours of that type are used by badminton players

4) Volleyballs. (our schools usually end up using footballs as a cheap substitute)

and 5) A champion. (Brits wont get involved unless there's a hero figure to emulate)
