Why does not Sony have any flash memory camcorders, while Canon has? I though flash memory cams was the future, is Sony being to slow? Or are they actually smarter than Canon?

  1. They're probably aiming all their production and ideas onto different fields (PS3, laptops, hard drive-based camcorders, touch screen cameras, etc.) Canon is just taking the lead in flash memory. SD cards are literally doubling up the size every 4 months or so (the biggest one they currently have is 32GB). So I predict that in a year or so Canon will have more than 120 GB available SD card memory for use with their flash memory products. I currently have a FS11 that has 16GB of flash memory.

    It's freaking awesome.

  2. They have 2:

Canon has a few AVCHD high definition and a few standard definition... The two Sony's are both AVCHD hidef.

Until any storage medium allows less compression, (like DV and HDV), then you won't see me jumping from miniDV tape...

  4. I had this sony with minidv and flash together and the flash part was not good at all. Digital cameras can take good flash videos with high resolution noe and staedy shoot. Look at the link below.
