I know a lot and including my self keep throwing... job applications in at a Pet Hospital even calling for the interview I make sure everything is field out right and is perfectly clean hand writing with no errors - Job Description

PT worker 16of age... good with animals; will be babysitting puppy's and kittens; No experience needed we have flexible hours for you.

I have been tossing about 3 or four applications/calls a week my friends one a week for the job interview... They either tell us yes we are taking applications... Sorry but we have an appointment sch. for a person interviewing... Or are fav. Please leave your name and number we will call you back for the interview...

So why are they turning us down... We all show great interest defiantly me. We meet all the requirements I put great hours... from Weekend Morning to Close... Weekdays 4-10 but Yet nothing

I would do anything for this job... But they keep turning me and everyone else down... WHY... Defiantly if every week they keep putting in are newspaper Help wanted and on their windows...

What could be the turn downs for everyone... Are they just extremely picky?

I am trying for this job because I want into an Animal Hospital field and I thought it would be best for me. To see if i would actually like in this field.

  1. They probably want someone more responsible and your resume did not portray that immediately. Try getting some volunteer work if you have no real job experience. At least it looks better on a resume than "good with animals".

Also, for any position they might hire you for, contact with animals will not be necessary. You have to go to school for much else.

  2. Its because you want to babysit puppy's and kittens

say your up for anything so you have a better chance.

  3. Have you asked them why?  They may or may not give you an answer.

See if they'll take you as a volunteer for a month or so.  That would show them your skills.

It's also possible they just want someone older.  Try not to take it personally.

My other thought is, could you do volunteer work at a local animal shelter?  That might help you know more about this entire field.

You seem to be compassionate and caring.  I hope you go into this field.

  4. I'm 17 and i started looking for a job in July, I've applied to like 10 places, but most weren't hiring, but now that summer's over and people are quitting summer jobs I'm hoping to snag one. I just applied to 2 places this week, Albertsons and Best Buy. You just gotta keep trying and apply to a bunch of different places. Don't just try to get one job, because chances are you will get turned down (at least I do). I don't know why they would ask for help and turn you down, maybe even though they don't require experience they want someone with it? Sometimes people are weird like that. I got turned down at Rite Aid even though they were hiring because I failed the phone assessment (didnt know i was supposed to bs it). So if they've given you an assessment sheet or something to fill out maybe they aren't liking your answers? I guess you gotta just keep trying and maybe apply to other places too if you want a job bad enough.
