Why does one of our eyes twitch?

it annoys me.. its happened alot in the past few days. WHY?

and is there a possible way of getting rid of it?

There's a lot of it about. "Eye twitch " has been asked 2,861   times on Y!A.  Up 16 in about a week.

It's basically fatigue or stress, but the response to the correct advice "Try to get more sleep and cultivate a more relaxed lifestyle."

can be "Fat chance!" or something even ruder.

In some people there is an association with marginally reduced potassium levels: try drinking fresh tomato juice or, if you don't like that, the second choice is eating bananas.

My mom is in the military and a doctor there told her that it's because she needs some rest.  My eyes do it towards the end of the school year...stressing over finals...
