Why does one person on the Olympic volleyball team have a different colored shirt?

On the US team, one girl was wearing a white shirt while everyone else wore navy. What is her purpose???

it means they are the labrero which is a person who always is in the back row and cannot pass the ten foot line they averagley are the best defensivley on the team

It's not a team captain or anything. They are the libero. The libero specializes in the back row as a defense player. They're the ones who dive and dig to get the ball to the setter to set up the offense. Mostly all liberos wear a different color jersey than the rest of their team members.

I think that's the libero. the libero is a specialized defense player. the libero will replace the middle blocker while they play in the back row.
