Question:

Why does one player carry all the gloves in softball?

I've been watching USA softball a lot lately and noticed that after they get three outs (on defense) they all run in but everyone gives one player their glove. It's often Caitlin Lowe and I think I've seen Andrea Duran do it a couple of times.

  1. i think someone volunteers

  2. I saw them play live and noticed that.

I think Lowe gets the gloves of the outfielders and keeps them in one spot, and Duran gets the gloves of the infielders and keeps them in a seperate spot, so that when they go back out on defense they're not searching for their gloves or mixing up their gloves or getting their gloves shoved under something.

Because when they go back out, an outfielder (usually the first one ready) would grab the gloves of the other outfielders and wait and give them to them and they would all run out to the outfield together.
