Why does one player on the Olympic volleyball teams wear a different colored (white) jersey from the rest of the team?

  2. haha yeah its a libero...a player that plays only backrow and rotates in for the middle blockers so that they dont have to play backrow defence...the word "libero" means free in greek which sort of explains that they can go in without the coach having to use a subsitution like with any other player...they definatly have to have the natural ability to read the hitters and be willing and able to dive around and hit the floor alot

  3. that is the libero they specialize in defense and only play back row they also have special rules like they can't set the ball in front of the ten foot line and have someone attack  

  4. I assume you mean the libero, they wear a different color than the rest of the team. They are a passing specialist and they have different rules. One of the special things about them is that they can substitute for any player in the game without going through the referee.

  5. Its the libero. I'm sure you know this by now but they don't have any substitution limits and they can go in for any one in the back row as long as they don't serve.
