Why does only one wheel spin on my Sears Craftsman rear propelled mover?

After using the mower for awhile only one wheel spins then it's hard to use

Micheal you need to replace the wheel on your mower.  The wheel has plastic gear around the inside of wheel.  When they wear out the mower quits pulling.

With only one wheel spinning the transmission isn't transmitting the power to the ground.

The problem is the wheel that doesn't spin is not connecting to the axle shaft. It's perhaps a rust problem. Remove the dead wheel and spray the drive gear with a good penetrating oil to free up the drive dogs. This may need a couple of applications to be effective.
