  1. You are in the southern hemisphere


  2. Because that's how the manufacturer made it.  To get a good flush you need to swirl the water.  You could swirl it either clockwise or counterclockwise, it makes no difference.  The Coriolis effect has nothing to do with it and is far too weak to affect it.

  3. Mine goes clockwise too.  Maybe its in upside down.  Maggie is right about Coriolis.  It has nothing to do with toilet directions, its the manufacturer that puts the spin on it.

  4. Water is squirted into the bowl at an angle.  This creates the swirling action so that your bowl will be self cleansing.

  5. Mine goes clockwise. Don't believe anything you hear about the Coriolis Effect affecting the way toilet water flows.
