Why does petsmart still sell animals????!!!???!!!!???

i dont think they should be allowed to!!!! they buy all their animals from breeding mills!!!!! dont you think that someone should stop the ceo of petsmart??????

Petsmart is a pet store. Of course they sell animals. Just because PETA says they're evil doesn't mean anything- PETA says everything is evil. Commercial breeding does not automatically equal cruelty. It's certainly possible to breed animals on a large scale without compromising their health, it just takes enough space and labor. If pet stores aren't allowed to sell animals, where will people get them? That would just lead to more people breeding animals purely for profit, which isn't any better than what we have now.

Petsmart sells them because they make money from it.  No, nobody should stop the CEO of petsmart.  It's a free market economy and it must be kept that way.

They clearly aren't doing anything wrong, or they would be shut down for animal cruelty.

If you disagree with it, don't buy there and buy elsewhere instead.

Those are ISOLATED incidents of cruelty.

It's like saying 'Never take your child to the park because once, a child was abducted from there'.

Of course they get online, because people like the extreme. People never go into a pet shop and go 'YAY, THE ANIMALS ARE TREATED WELL'- they only want to know and sensationalize it when there is isolated incidents of cruelty.

Most pet stores get their animals from breeding mills, even privately owned pet stores.  Not all PetSmart (or Petco) stores mistreat or neglect their animals.  But as long as people continue to purchase their pets from these stores (and I must admit, I'm guilty), they'll continue to sell pets.  The sad truth is private breeders are less accessible or more expensive.  And not all private breeders treat their animals better than breeding mills.  I think it would be most effective to hold these breeding mills to certain standards or shut them down.

And don't get me wrong - I am in NO way justifying the way these animals are treated.  This is one of the reasons why I try to rescue animals and give them a better home.

If people would stop buying, they would have to stop selling them due to lack of demand.

All Petco and Petsmarts are owned by the same corporation, so they all sell animals from breeding mills.

i don't know. they have hundreds of sick and dead animals they keep in that huge back room. I only trust the cats from there but they are like $200 for some reason I think they should only be like $50 or $75 since they are allready neutered and have shots

I didn't want to watch the video but I did and now I am in tears. I seen those poor little ferrets and that just got me!!!! Why would anyone with a soul do this!!! And all those poor dead animals. Warning everyone this video is graphic!!! I am so glad my petsmart doesn't sell ferrets anymore. Not I hurt for all the animals that are there.
