Why does police cars have a computer in them? Do they receive the internet?

Our car computers do many things.

We write reports electronically and submit them to the station from the field.

We can run just about anything - license plates. people, guns, articles.

Yes we have the Internet - we have wireless cards also and can do anything in the car - that can be done at a computer in the station.

In a sense.  They are hooked up toa database that has all the driving and criminal records of anybody with a license in the US.
