  1. "She also presented the prestigious Sword of Honour to the best cadet and also handed out the Overseas Medal and the Queen's Medal, before addressing the newly-commissioned officers."

    Read the article!

  2. Because we live in a class-ridden society that is perpetuated by having a monarchy.

    Off with their heads!

  3. "She also presented the prestigious Sword of Honour to the best cadet and also handed out the Overseas Medal and the Queen's Medal, before addressing the newly-commissioned officers."

Guess Willy and Harry got the Sword of Honour

  4. Probably the same reason there father wears an Admirals uniform and the Aunt wears a Colonel in Chiefs uniform

  5. That's the Golden Jubilee Medal. Both Princes were awarded it by their grandmother for attending her Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Surprisingly, they're permitted to wear those trinkets on their uniforms. I'm not joking. It's a shame Harry's medal for his deployment to Afghanistan has to be mounted alongside this bauble.

  6. Queen's Jubilee Medal.  Given to them because they are deemed to have been serving their country for their whole lives.  Debatable, but true.

  7. Well:That is easily explained!Granny gave them some order for something or other! Why!Prince Charles got an honour just for talking to the flower pots! What has happened to Old Fashioned Chivalry?

  8. they wouldn't want to be shown up by third world dictators, that wouldn't do at all, would it?

  9. It's the Queens Golden Jubilee Medal made to celebrate her 50th anniversary as monarch. Any commonwealth citizen was eligible to be awarded it. It was issued in 2002 and was awarded to members of the armed services who had completed 5 years service by Feb 2002 ( I just made it) It was also awarded to some police officers and other members of the emergency services and Ive seen some Canadian soldiers wearing it. You will probably find the odd lollipop lady and postman wearing it as well.

We call it the "Thanks for coming medal" and it looks daft because it is smaller than the other medals that we get.

William and Harry got theirs because they serve the country & if you are honest they have sacrificed a lot.
