Why does "god" want to kill, and make homeless, more people in New Orleans?

Is N.O. a hot bed of sinners that "god" wants to wipe out, as he did to various cites in the bible?

Yes, bibleists, I know a hurricane is weather, and is an "act of nature"...but you've told us that almighty "god" is in control of everything. If "god" makes rainbows, then he makes hurricanes. So it is your "god" who is going to kill these people. But, why???

  1. It is also my God who made these people, right?

It is also my God who said that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, right?

It is also my God who said that all these acts of nature would happen in the last days, right?

It is my God who told you that Satan is here to kill, steal and destroy so steer clear from him, right?

It is also my God who told you to read his word(the bible) and you refuse to do that, right?

So what is the point in your question?

Read the bible it has all the answers you need.

  2. I'm not God so how would I know, but whats going on today is referred as the end of our days..Aka Revelation

  3. He doesn't' like them blackies. :P

  4. i think some people attract their own disasters ... they were warned 50+ years ago of certain destruction in the event of a major hurricane in the area .. doubters ..

  5. God allows things for many reasons, but the most important one is to wake us up and listen to His call. Natural disasters don't happen because God wants to kill us. He promised that after the flood. However, much good has come out of disasters for those who were searching. Disasters occur so that we can turn around, forget about ourselves for once and help another human being in need. That is the best present anyone could wish for. Seeing friendships erupt were people once simply walked passed each other. As a Christian I am not afraid of the disaster. It is a time to pray to God for mercy and to lend a helping hand.

  6. god, much like bush, doesn't like black people

  7. No, he doesn't. It's just another natural disaster and not anything to do with God. Otherwise, you would have to blame ever innocent death as God's will. I would like to know why he lets his servants die but I doubt the answer is "because he wanted them to die". Whomever says God wants all people in New Orleans to die, is just trying to manipulate people. Don't believe it.

  8. No. God Almighty is not in control of me. I am His creation, including my free will. That's for starters.

  9. I dont know but I trust his reasoning

  10. Hurricanes are a prevailing weather pattern in the Gulf and the Caribbean. People live there. Is God supposed to change the weather, or are people supposed to be smarter?

  11. Maybe he is trying to show Bush he doesn't exist after all ?

  12. i'm sure a rainbow is a good thing, its not related in any way to a hurricane. people need to stop blaming God for things. why is it so easy to blame him and not Satan? when the hurricane hits, Satan is going to have a good time enjoying the deaths that take place, or might take place, blame HIM, he started this whole mess!!! God knows whats going on.

  13. Why is it God's fault for the death from a hurricane? Did it just sneak up on people? Was there no warning of it's coming? All those who live there would be foolish to think another hurricane would never return. God always gives a chance of escape. But for some, it is easier to blame God than to face the consequences of their own actions. I pray for those in that situation and know that God has a purpose and reason for all things.

  14. If you spend time in God's Word, you know that the "God of THIS world is Satan". Closure's respose is very good. The enemy has but one job, to steal, kill, and destroy. How many of you remember the pictures of Katrina? The one that sticks out in my mind was of one, single, all by itself house, still on it's foundation, the only one for blocks in all directions. Researchers found out that home belonged to a believer in Jesus Christ. Will Christians have problems and trouble? Definitely, but you NEED to know who you are in Christ, and everything He did for you on the cross, and at the resurrection. It grieves God greatly so many of His children are lost. He holds His Word above His Name. The wages of sin are death. Satan prowls the earth like a hungry lion, going before God with a list, saying, see what your foolish children are doing? The devil knows The Word, so when we, as a nation are foolish,(like abortion, sexual immorality, etc.), we give the devil legal right to raise havoc on us. So no God isn't going to kill these people, our corporate behavior as a nation is.

  15. You'd need to ask GOD that.  We can't answer for Him in this matter.

  16. I think it's some country, even the US, using HAARP tech sending out scalar microwaves that heat up the atmosphere and create those terrible storms where they can then even direct them toward New Orleans.

  17. My answer to this is: God is not doing this. Satan is. And another answer is. Read the bible it just might bring light to your questions. Have a great day!

  18. Satan has dominion of earth and the weather patterns. God can use them for His purpose. Only God knows who is in control whether Satan or God the good and wicked are both punished. The church because we have failed God and not stood up for Him. We were to concerned about wanting to be liked instead of doing God's will. We now have to reap what we have sown, killing our babies for convenience, selling our bodies for whatever reason, selling our morals to be liked, and sell God out to be accepted. We deserve what ever God wants to dish out to us and more.

  19. I know some Christians gloated over the Tsunami hitting Muslim areas and some high profile Christian preachers gloated that God was punishing New Orleans for a g*y pride parade. Of course they have no explanation for why fire from the heavens hasn't taken out Las Vegas or why huricanes keep striking Bible Belt areas of the Southeast, or why tornadoes strike Oklahoma, or why God hates Iowa and is trying to drown them all and ruin their farms. But I have an explanation. These things are ordered by themselves, and we have all the resources required to help our fellow citizens in New Orleans. No divine intervention is needed.

At the same time, I spent a lot of time sand-bagging rivers in the Midwest, and I know the reality is that if you want to farm the best land, you also will be farming the most vulnerable to flood since it's the floods that make the soil rich in Mississippi and Ohio valleys. My parents' home was among those destroyed in the last round of floods in the Midwest when a levee broke after the river rose ten feet above the previously recorded high.  There are risks in living in the lowlands, the tidelands, in tornado alleys, in hurricane tracks, on the sides of a volcano. Of course, when people choose to live in a part of New Orleans that's lower than sea level, they have to expect serious trouble and plan for it. The Babylonians actually moved Babylon to avoid the river floods. Maybe its time to relocate New Orleans.

Afternote about Kingsdaughter's comment below that , "Satan has dominion over weather patterns." SO does that mean we should thank Satan for good weather? I know in tempting Jesus, Satan claimed to rule over the nations of the Earth, but Jesus also tells us Satan is a liar and the father of lies.

I'm an atheist, but I can read the Bible, which apparently some Christians can't, and the Bible is plain:

It is God, not Satan, who controls the weather (Exodus 9:29; Psalm 135:6-7; Jeremiah 10:13).

God controls the skies and the rain (Psalm 77:16-19).

God controls the wind (Mark 4:35-41; Jeremiah 51:16).

God upholds and sustains the universe (Hebrews 1:3).

God has power over the clouds (Job 37:11-12, 16).

God has power over lightning and Satan (Psalm 18:14).

God has power over all nature (Job 26).

We have specific instances in Job where by God's permission Satan uses weather against Job's family, but that's it.

  20. God isn't doing it.

HAARP might be doing it:  http://www.whale.to/b/weather.html

  21. The christian "god" is really into wiping people out.  The bible tells about this from cover to cover.  Maybe after he is done with this latest destruction, he will create a nice rainbow.  That will be a nice personal touch.

  22. Why would God destroy?  Don't focus on the badness of this ugly situation but look at how people are reaching out to others.

Hurricanes, earth quakes, tremors, storms, etc are unavoidable and do understand that N.O. is pretty much under sea level---the ocean is above the lands so any force of wind will push water unto the N.O. lands thus creating disasters.

And yes, God is in control now pray so He can hear your cry for the people of N.O.; ask that things get better, that situations endure be many there get resolved, that the people of N.O. seek Him more for we are only here for a short time and life has never been guaranteed to  anyone.  I wish I could tell you something you want to hear--blame God for the world's devastation but it is men---building in a place that is vulnerable is not wise.

What can they do? not sure but leaving the past there and seeking to move (with Govt help) to a safer place is one answer.

  23. Why did G-D destroy Soddam and Gomorrah?

  24. You're mistaking the fact that God can do everything with your assumption that he is responsible for everything.  Hurricanes are actually a necessary force of nature, when the planet gets too hot Hurricanes are a way to release energy to keep the Earth from overheating.  People choose to live in a place where hurricanes are not uncommon yet still choose to blame God.

  25. Maybe God and Allah have reached consensus on this one.

  26. how come when disaster is striking the rich country it should matter more to God than if it is happening in poor country. why are you so material and by the same token wants Jesus to be material too. everyday  thousands of people died , but I don't see you blaming God for them everyday, why, they don't matter to you or to to God. oh I forgot ,they are not christians  only americans are christians
